For Firefox version 104.0.2, the screenshot feature is not working. This includes the icon that can be placed in the toolbar, the right click on webpage feature and the ctrl+shift+S method. You can "find" the feature (e.g., the "take screenshot" option will appear in the right clear option) but regardless of the manner selected, teh feature is inoperable.

What exactly happens if you click that menu item ?

You can check these prefs on the about:config page and make sure both are set to false.

  • extensions.screenshots.disabled = false
  • screenshots.browser.component.enabled = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. On the warning page, you can click "Accept the Risk and Continue"to open about:config.

I am not sure what you mean by "that menu item", but nothing happens for any of the three options.  The effect is the same as if one did not try any of the options.  If the settings are a critical part of the problem, then I do not appear to have settings different from what you suggest.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Response to Dropa:

As I thought I made clear in my original question, each of the options is available. However, trying to access any of the three results in nothing occurring. You are not given an opportunity to take action because the tool is not activated. As this is written, I have not had a change to try the 9/15 troubeshooting suggestion offered by cor-el. But at least at this point, the tool is "available", it just does not execute when requested.
