I installed TB version 102 and do not wish to update. Per previous no-updating solutions I found, I have the "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them" option tagged, I renamed "updater.exe" to "no-updater.exe," and have the following JSON in my distributions folder:

Yet, today, it still automatically updated to version 128. Why?

I also have "Use a background service to install updates" off, yet it still updated.

I will not debate your settings or what happened. No one else among the tens of thousands (millions, really) have mentioned this. BUT, if upgrading is totally a NO, then see this post of mine for lock it in:
