On some sites (there are quite a few) Firefox has trouble with the character encoding and the page looks like this http://imgur.com/apgXR.jpg this was with ISO-8859-1 it looks the same with UTF-8 and all the other western encodings. If I however change the encoding to eg. Japanese it works fine http://imgur.com/hnvz0.jpg. This seems to happen randomly. When I first came to that site it was working. I opened a link in that site and it broke. When I refreshed the original site it broke too. On some sites it seems to be totally random whether it works or doesn't. On some days it works fine on some it doesn't work at all.

This can be a problem with the default font that is used on that page that is corrupted or missing. You can try a different default font like Verdana or Tahoma to see if that works.

Thanks, changing the font to tahoma worked.

You're welcome

If changing the font works then that means that the font that you had previously selected was corrupted and in that case you need to reinstall that font.
