After having problems with my wireless adaptor, I was advised to "restore" my computer to its original pristine condition (mistake). After restore, I had to re-install firefox 3.6 all my book marks are gone. Now I don't know how to get my bookmark back.

Sorry, but if you didn't back up your Firefox personal data (like your bookmarks) before doing that "restore" , that data is probably gone.

You can "Search for files and folders" from the Start menu to see if your Firefox data is in more than one location, but you'll probably have to unhide the hidden files and folders in Windows for that search to see any of your Firefox data.

The file you want to search for is named places.sqlite, so you want to see if you have a file by that name in more than one place on your hard drive.

In Firefox, to can open Help > Troubleshooting Information and then hit the Open Containing Folder button, next to the "Profile Directory" item, to see where your current Profile is located.

The Firefox profiles can be found under AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

If that directory was not backed up, then you won't be able to get it back. If that directory WAS backed up, then just copy the contents of the profile inside of that directory to overwrite the current profile.
