My Usernames Passwords are not being saved, the pop up question about saving a password or not never shows. Please let me know how I can fix this problem.
My usernames and passwords are not being saved. I never get the prompt:
"Do you want Firefox to remember the password?"
I've tried the help screens but I can't find the answer. Please let me know how this can be fixed.
Thanks,
Doug Clarke

Make sure that you have set Firefox to remember passwords.
- Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Remember passwords for sites"
Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode.
- You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
- To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
- Uncheck: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"

My passwords all show up under 'saved passwords' in 4.01 security settings but when I sign on to sites the password is not being populated and I am not being asked if I want to remember password when entering new ones. The box is checked to ask me to save passwords. It was such a nice feature. Every time FF gets an upgrade I lose features and have to search for how to get them back which is ridiculous but have not found out how to get this one back. I love FF but they really should NOT remove features we love and should have a list of how to do certain things with new versions (like the + sign NOT being next to tabs to get new tab. There are 'new' ways to do what we used to do more easily but it always takes users to find out and publish for the rest of us and its not easy to find them. This password thing is really yanking on my chain.

Did you check that you aren't in private browsing mode?
Does Firefox fill the password if you enter the name and press the Tab key?
There are also extensions that can cause this not to work properly.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
