It's on automatically by default - Firefox matches whatever level of encryption that a web site uses.

Firefox supports 256-bit encryption if website provides support for such.

What site are you having trouble with?

It may be looking for the U that used to be in the Firefox 3. 6 and earlier usersagents and if this is the case that is not the best way.
