I rearranged the icons on the nav bar but only some of them show when i leave "customize" if i go back in they all show -- tried adding spaces between items and that didn't help either.

I just loaded Windows 7 Ultimate - was using Win7 Professional (clean install - not an upgrade) I restored the firefox profile from before the reload. (followed the copy/paste instructions for doing restore)

I want to put the following icons (in order) on nav bar and part of them do not display after I leave "customize" - but while in "customize" they display correctly: back, forward, reload, stop, bookmarks, home, nav bar, adblock plus ( I have spaces inserted between everything except back/forward)

The Bookmarks button with the white star and the little drop-marker arrow has a mind of its own, it acts differently than all the other toolbar buttons. It is "connected" to the Menu Bar being hidden and whether the Bookmarks Toolbar is being shown or not.

When the Menu Bar is showing, that button doesn't appear, as it is meant to replace the Bookmarks Menu Bar bookmarks item when the Firefox button is there and the Menu Bar is hidden. When the Firefox button is showing and the Bookmarks Toolbar is showing, that Bookmarks button is on the right-side of the Bookmarks Toolbar. When the Bookmarks Toolbar is hidden, that button then appears on the right-side of the Navigation Toolbar. (As it does when the Toolbar Customize mode is open.)

There is a second Bookmarks button which is almost identical (lacks the drop-marker arrow) sitting in the Customize Palette, you might try swapping those buttons and see how that works for you.

  • Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
  • Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise (Space or Separator) to get two distinct buttons.
