Can't import a digital certificate from IE to Firefox 7

At work we have tried to install Firefox and import digital certificates we have used on Internet Explorer. We have managed to do this just fine on two computers, but one says the certificate has imported successfully, but when we try to use it on websites, it comes up with an error page and says there is no recognisable certificate.

It also did not automatically import the favourites from IE over to Firefox, despite choosing the option to do so. We have tried uninstalling the programme and reinstalling it to try it again but had the same problems. It also appears to be loading websites a bit strangely, i.e. graphics slightly off.

Can anyone help with this?

Do you see the imported certificates in the Certificate Manager on one of the tabs?

  • Tools > Options > Advanced : Encryption: Certificates - View Certificates

Yes, and everything says it's been imported correctly. The certificate shows up.

Did you check the trust bits if those are required via the edit button and the certificate chain when you get the error?
