Xmarks only works sporadically w/ Firefox for years now. Will this prob ever be fixed so I can start using Firefox again or not?
O.S. Win7 H.P. x64 & x86 FF v. 24 (& ~15-23) Addon = Xmarks
Other active addons I always use = LastPass, BetterPrivacy, NoScript.
Xmarks sync never completes.
Alternatives to Xmarks I've tried: EverSync (cumbersome manual operation) Gmarks "" Diigo (no Chrome toolbar) ~FavoritesSaver (cloud non accessible)
Will try: Delicious (if this doesn't meet my standards I'll discard Firefox for good, though it would be my favorite browser if it would work right.)

I think I solved the problem. I did a Firefox "reset". Menu > Help > TroubleShooting Information > reset
I lost my addons, themes, etc. but now xmarks syncs...
Now I'm having the problem of it not working well with Firefox, hanging & slow. Better that than it never completing & losing data between browsers.

hello FoxLinkSync, this addon is not created by mozilla. if you want a problem in an addon to be addressed, please directly contact the extension developers through the means provided at their homepage - they can likely give you more detailed guidance and are the only ones who can fix bugs or make necessary adjustments in the addon. thank you.
you also might want to try How do I set up Sync on my computer?.
I need something that I can use with any browser, or at least the main ones: Chrome, Firefox, & I.E.
FireFox Sync only works when signed into Firefox, as I understand it.
yes, that's correct - it's only meant to keep multiple instances of firefox on different devices in sync...
Chrome works well with Xmarks. Even I.E. works well. I haven't used Firefox for several years now, mainly for this reason. Since Firefox is starting to make noticeable improvements though, i.e. appearance improvements coming, speed improved... I figured it might be possible for there to be some collaborative efforts regarding one of the top multi-browser addons.

With over 500,000 users of that Firefox add-on, I would be surprised if that add-on didn't work properly with Firefox.
The only real complaints I have seen posted here is that Xmarks and Firefox Sync don't work well together.

Please upgrade to Xmarks 4.2.3 from our web site. It has not been updated on mozilla.org because it's stuck in review, so you will not be notified that there is an update.
