Where is the 'History > Recently Closed Tabs' menu in Firefox 29

There used to be a 'Recently Closed Tabs' in the old orange Firefox 28 menu. Now it seems version 29 only has a 'Restore Closed Tabs' menu item in its 'History menu'. There seems to be no option to restore individually closed tabs. I'm always closing a tab by accident, and the old method was very fast and easy.

Another person asked about this, but it seems his only solution was the 'Undo Closed Tabs Button' Add-On: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/997285?esab=a&as=aaq

In the old menu, you had access to your recent history, 'Clear Recent History', 'Restore Previous Session', 'Recently Closed Tabs', and 'Recently Closed Windows' in one easy to access spot. Now all that is buried, or doesn't seem to exist anymore.

Is there any way to re-configure the new menu to include at least the 'Recently Closed Tab's menu again?

You can click History in the 3-bar Firefox menu button on the Navigation Toolbar to see the sections for recently closed tabs and recently closed windows.

You can also unhide the menu bar and open the History menu.

  • Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden Menu bar.

There is no menu option anywhere in there that lets me re-open the last tab I closed.

If I have 5-10 tabs open, accidentally close a tab, and then continue to browse for several more minutes, it's extremely difficult to find the web page for that closed tab from the long history of recently visited websites.

The loss of that 'Restore Closed Tabs' option will make things very hard for me now. Though I've always greatly preferred Firefox, I may find myself using Chrome much more often specifically for this option while doing research in the future.

I now see the list of closed tabs in the History menu cor-el mentioned. My screen didn't display the separator very well between the closed tabs and main history items.

So the old 'Recently Closed Tabs' menu has now been renamed 'Restore Closed Tabs'. However it now requires 3 mouse clicks on a PC to access that menu rather than just 2 clicks as it was before.

And it now seems that many of the old menu items that were accessible via 2 mouse clicks now require clicking on 3 menus before the functions are displayed.

This is very inconvenient. I hope enough other people complain about this for the Mozilla developers to speed things up back to where they were pre-version 29

You can find the History button in the Customize palette, accessible via the 3-bar Firefox menu button on the Navigation Toolbar and drag this button on a toolbar. Then you should only have to click once.

If you press the alt key to bring up the menu bar, you have the recently closed tabs also available in the history menu.
