My track pad no longer lets me scroll

I can no longer scroll on Mozilla. It suddenly stopped working. I now have to pull down the sidebar or hold down the track pad to scroll. This does not happen on other browsers or the rest of my computer. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi JodieCavendish,

I am using a Mac as well, I am scrolling perfectly fine actually.

I'd try looking in your settings, make sure nothing has been modified.

Thank you, Apoorv

I have checked my computer settings and the scroll function is switched on - it is working on the rest of my computer, the problem is only on Mozilla's browser. Is there a settings area on Mozilla itself?

I have quit and relaunched the browser and restarted my computer but neither has helped.

Thank you.

Scrolling issues with Firefox and others are mostly caused by add-ons or extensions.

Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:

  • Windows/Mac: Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
  • Linux: Run firefox -safe-mode in the Terminal/Konsole

If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.

I have tried this but I still cannot scroll. And in the disabled version, I cannot see my menu bar with saved tabs. How do I re-enable add-ons please?

Thanks.
