Adds from "Ads by MediaAds" says I can opt-out but it does not provide this feature to me. How can I kill this?

more options

I use Mozilla exclusively and lately I've been deluged by adds from "Adds by MediaAds". When you left click on "Ad options" another tab opens offering opt-out within the "Ad Control" function. When you click on "Opt-out" the window will show the opt-out current state as "Active" and warns "Once deactivated, the service will no longer function" but does not present a way to change the current state to "not-active". I've tried many times with no success. Thanks for any help.

In Step 2 of the solution in that article, resetting Firefox is fast, but if you prefer not to reinstall the "good" add-ons, you can review/disable/remove extensions manually.

Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions (or if possible, Remove them).

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Does that clean it up?
