I find many text items on sites to be grey to the point even of invisibility.

Blanks to fill in have invisible cursors and letters. many titles and instructions, and selection links are gray on gray, and even almost-white on white. And where the colors of text and background do differ, the contrast is very low. I even have trouble with the Mozilla site, this way, even while writing this message. I am using Win8.1, which does some of this kind of stuff itself. Am I stuck with this? I would like to tweak it in foxfire, and if possible, in windows.

Hi gastaffa, There is a way to change the fonts and styles of websites as a whole from the fonts and styles menu. To get there go to:

  1. Firefox Menu (3 horizontal line a the far right corner of your browser window)
  2. Click on Options
  3. Content
  4. Under fonts and colors you can choose the defualt but in order to override all sites click on Advanced
  5. From this menu uncheck Allow pages to choose their own fonts.... in order to override the other colors.

In Windows 8.1it is possible to turn on high contrast: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../turn-on-high-contrast-and-change-the-settings
