I'm trying to set up mailmerge. I've installed mail merger add on mailmerge 3.10.1 and magic SLR to get the send later option. Trouble is I have no outbox or unsent folder for the merged messages to go into

'Outbox' is a folder under 'Local folders' account.

View > Folders > All or Menu icon > Folders > All

'Local Folders' account is listed at the bottom of the Folder pane. click on the small arrow located left of 'Local Folders' to reveal the folders. All mail accounts will use this Outbox when you use 'Send Later'. See image below.

I notice you use the addon Magic SLR, but you said you downloaded it just to get a 'Send Later' option.

the 'Send Later' option was already available in Thunderbird. If in online mode: click on the Send drop down and select 'Send Later' or File > SEnd later

If in offline mode the 'Send' button is replaced with 'Send Later' by default.

If using Mail Merge, then you can select that option in the Mail Merge window.

Hi

At the bottom of my folders lis there is no local folders option. Did all the things suggested but it is simply not there. Any way this can be recovered.

In Thunderbird:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • click on 'Show Folder'
  • a new window opens showing your Profile Folder.
  • Close Thunderbird now - this is important
  • locate and delete the 'foldertree.json' file.
  • close window.
  • open Thunderbird.

Confirm you have this setting: View > Folders > All Does the Folder Pane now show folders? confirm view with an image.

I can use the "send later" option only if I scroll down to "local folders". It would be much easier and faster to use the "Send drop down menu" but it has disappeared as my latest Thunderbird update. What can I do?

re :I can use the "send later" option only if I scroll down to "local folders".

'Send Later' option is not done via the main UI, it is done via the 'Write' window where you create the messages.

Somehow I do not think you are talking about the 'Send Later ' option. I think you are refering to the 'Send unsent messages' option.

In the 'Local Folders' mail account, there will be an 'Outbox'. The 'Outbox' stores all emails that you have already selected to 'Send Later'. Right click on 'Outbox' offers the option to 'Send unsent Messages'

If you are using the 'Mail Toolbar'. 'Menu icon' > 'File' > 'Send unsent messages'

You can also use the 'Menu Bar'. I think this is what you might be refering to, but I'm wondering if you can see the 'Menu Bar', perhaps it has not been enabled.

'Menu icon' > 'Options' > select 'Menu Bar' then you should get this option: 'File' > 'Send unsent messages'

I am talking about the Send Later option that used to be in a drop down menu by "send" in the menu bar when one had opened the "write" window. Now it's gone and I can only choose "send later" if I first go off line.

And now my "send" button has disappeared and I can't send emails anymore PLEASE HELP!

MaxineKL: You're query has absolutely nothing to do with the question posted by the original OP. You should not be hijacking other peoples questions when the topic is completely different. You should ask a new question because the original OP does not want to be spammed with other peoples issues.

But then I discover you have done this and got a response. So do not put any more responses in this question.

Toad Hall: You originally responded to my first question (which was essentially the same as the original poster's) by saying that I actually meant something other than what I was asking - that I wasn't looking for the "send-later" button at all! Then I noticed that someone else responded in a way that solved my problems with both the send and send-later buttons. So I thanked them. I don't see this as hijacking anything, but as following up on the "I have this problem too" button on the support page. I didn't thank you because you misunderstood my question. It happens; no big deal, but to accuse me of hijacking and spamming is unreasonable. Best wishes, MaxineKL
