Saved passwords are missing
After updating to Firefox 38.0.5 all of my saved passwords are missing.
Options > Security > Saved Passwords - results are blank
I have tried:
Restart with Add-Ons Disabled - no change
about:config > signon.importedFromSqlite > Reset, delete logins.json and restart - no change
I can add a new login and password and the logins.json file contains all of the old ones plus the new one but only the new one is visible in Firefox.
Is there anything else I can try?

Resolved issue (but not the cause).
I found a recent backup of the key3.db file and restored it and all passwords now appear.
Thanks

Resetting signon.importedFromSqlite only helps to reimport passwords if there is a signons.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.
Did you at least backup the logins.json file before deleting this file?
This can be caused by a problem with the key3.db file that stores the encryption key and the Master Password.
Can you store new passwords?
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
- Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
Thanks for your reply.
I backed up the logins.json file before deleting it from the profile folder
The recreated logins.json file contains all my old login information but nothing shows up in Firefox.
I can add a new login and password and it will show up in Firefox. It is added into the json file as the next entry after my existing files.
Does this mean my key3.db file has changed? Unfortunately I do not think I have a backup of that.
I am not using a master password.

You're welcome.
Is this via previous versions or did you had the file in a backup?
- Right-click: Properties > Previous Versions

I had a Sandboxie session I had not deleted so i was able to pull it from there. It would have been last run before the upgrade to 38.0.5
Thanks for the explanation.
