I am on Thunderbird 38.3.0, have reinstalled Lightning 4.0.3 and Provider for Google Calendar 1.0.4. After upgrading to Windows 10, my Google calendar entries all disappeared in Thunderbird. I recreated my calendar (several times), per the online instructions, and the calendar the works, but only for a short time. After a while (maybe a couple of hours), again all the calendar entries disappear. I have gone through this cycle at least 5 times, with the same results. Please advise on how to fix this.

Exclude the Thunderbitrd process from Defender and see if that helps.

Wouldn't this leave me open to problems from my Thunderbird email and calendar accounts?

Why would it. All your doing is excluding from scanning a program that has been scanned and found not to have a virus.

I tried doing this, created a new calendar, and the calendar entries still disappear.
