I have a Toshiba laptop 64-bit, running Windows 10 Home. Thunderbird version 38.5.0 and Libre Writer version Version: 5.0.3.2 (x64) Build ID: e5f16313668ac592c1bfb310f4390624e3dbfb75 Locale: en-US (en_US)

I copied a couple of paragraphs from a Libre Writer (docx) document and pasted them into an email I was writing. In the original docx document the font is Comic Sans MS and the size is 12. Very readable, no eye strain. When I pasted it into the email, it showed up still as Comic Sans MS but the size was about a 4 or 5. Extremely tiny and not readable. I highlighted the two paragraphs and clicked on Font Size in Thunderbird to set them to the Large size. Plus I don't want all different font sizes in my emails. That looks really tacky. After setting the size to Large, all the lines very overlapping each other and again, not readable.

How can I fix this? I thought if I could increase the spacing between the lines, they would no longer overlap. I have the need to do this copy/paste thing frequently. And this is really ugly.

Or is there another way that I can do the copy/paste and have the original formatting carry over into the email?

Thanks for your help.

I did not know that Ctrl+Shift+V pasted the text differently than Ctrl+V or right click and Paste. Actually, I've never heard of this way of pasting text. I've always used the other two ways.

I tried it in an email and it seemed to work great. Thanks so much.

With right click it is on the menu as "paste without formatting" Right below paste.

It seems I've always been in a hurry when I'm doing this and never bothered to figure out what Without Formatting meant and the regular Paste had always worked just fine, until it didn't. The menu will be easier than hitting the three keys.

I thought the destination formatting would take precedence over the pasted text. Guess not. Thanks again for your help. This can be considered Solved.
