I just got a new computer Windows 10 OS. I have FF installed and ready to go. I was just curious if I need to install Java? I had it on my old computer, but, I'm not sure if it was ever actually used. Should I install it or just wait until some application says it needs it? Thanks

Wait until you come across a website that tells you that you need Java.

I haven't had Java installed for a few years now, and haven't missed it one bit.

Unless you need it for something you should not install it. It has been a vulnerable Plugin over time.

Oracle even plans to depreciate their vulnerable Java Plugin. https://blogs.oracle.com/java-platform-group/entry/moving_to_a_plugin_free
