Pretty much every secure login page has this issue. This has been going on for awhile.

Can't find the Firefox version number via dropdown menu, so I have no idea which version this is.

It may be happening because the browser cache is still holding the webpage in its memory. To prevent this you can delete the Cache Memory and restart the Browser again.

To answer your second question to know your firefox version (I am assuming you are using the updated version which is 49.2). Please follow the below steps

1. Tap on the : symbol on the extreme right 2. Again tap on Settings option from the menu options window 3. Tap on About Firefox option

After the window opens you can see the version of your mozilla.
