Is it possible that my old thunderbird profiles ar still somewhere on my machine? I deleted thunderbird from this pc when I installed thunderbird onto my laptop and used Mozbackup to transfer my setting to the laptop everything works well om my laptop,

What i'm trying to do now is sort a relatives email, so I created a copy of their setup using mozbackup and copied their profile on my pc which at the time did not have either mozbackup or thunderbird, so I installed both of them from fresh downloads and then used mozbackup to restore their profile, but when I run Thunderbird it does show their emails or setting but mine and also my extensions this doesn't make sense, can you help please?

My best guess is that Thunderbird picked up your (still existing) old profile on the PC. You'll need to point it to the profile restored with MozBackup. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_profile_folder_-_Thunderbird#Use_the_Profile_Manager_to_move_your_profile

Wrt MozBackup, see http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/support.php : "MozBackup is not being developed anymore. There are known issues and there is no time on my side to fix all issues and develop new features. Use MozBackup only on your risk."
