There is no password for Thunderbird. Your email account has a password. You reset a forgotten email password with your email provider. Go to their email help page and look for a reset link.

Starting Thunderbird, first screen ask for "password for ACCOUNT and pop.PROVIDER.it". If nothing is typed opens screen "error for account ACCOUNT@PROVIDER.it. Impossible get mail password." If anything is typed open screen "error for account ACCOUNT@PROVIDER.it. Mail provider pop.PROVIDER.it answered authorization failed."

I can access regularly via PROVIDER web mail with ACCOUNT and password that is not recognized through Thunderbird.

Please send email to ... with temporary password. Thanks

No one from this forum or Thunderbird has anything to do with administering your password. No one from here is going to send you a password. As stated above, contact your email provider for password changes or problems..

If your password works at the provider Webmail site there is nothing wrong with your password and I do not know why you want to change it. Incorrect server settings will cause the password error. Contact your provider for a list of their current settings and compare those with what you have set in Thunderbird.

If this does not fix your issue, start your own thread with details of your issue.
