When I use "save page as" from the context menu (usually as a text file), the page is indeed saved, but then Firefox crashes on that tab. Other tabs remain usable, but the tab I just saved is dead. It can't be refreshed, no links work, the context menu no longer works, etc. The only option is to close the tab, and then navigate back to the page in a new tab.

This is a new "feature" of Firefox 57.

That procedure caused me a great deal of bother, but did nothing to solve the problem.

I'm convinced now that it's a bug in Firefox. Here's why: - If I save the web page complete, no problem. - if I save the web page as html only, no problem. - if I save the web page as text, there's a problem.

The problem is that the tab becomes unresponsive. Right clicking no longer works. Left clicking no longer works. Refreshing the tab no longer works. Switching to another tab and then back, shows a blank tab with a progress spinner. The tab can be closed (X) only.

This problem doesn't always occur, but usually does when saving as .txt.

The problem doesn't seem to effect other open tabs.
