This is kind of hard to search for, since so may add-ons extend the "view background image" action. I want the opposite: Take an image from a web page, and view it as a repeating background. Is there an add-on that will do this?

That view background image AFAIK I wouldn't do that unless you have the site permission to use their image. You can save it as your own but using it could get into a sticky situation.

Where do you want to show this background image?

Is that in Firefox or on the Windows desktop?

You use Firefox screenshot to take this image and download this image to your computer and use builtin Windows means to set this image as the desktop background or load this image in Firefox and use the context menu.

I want to display it in Firefox as a repeating background image on a blank page: just open a new tab and set document.body.style.backgroundImage='url("image URL here")'
