Vertical scrolling with trackpad stops working in a browser window

Vertical scrolling using two fingers on my MacBook Pro's trackpad randomly stops working on all tabs in a given Firefox window. The same gesture in other windows of the same Firefox process keep working. Arrow key scrolling works, as down page up/down. Grabbing the scroll bar and dragging does NOT work, but clicking on the scroll bar will scroll.

After two minutes or so, scrolling will suddenly start working, and the page I'm on will suddenly jump, as if the scroll events had been buffered up.

I cannot figure out how to reproduce this. I'm running Firefox in a terminal, but I'm not seeing anything interesting on stdout/stderr.

How can I fix this, or at least diagnose it? Thank you for your help!

I can actually reproduce this now by just opening some Firefox Bugzilla pages.

1. Open https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=781484 in a tab 2. Make a new tab and open https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=781484 again in the new tab 3. Switch to the old tab using a gesture I have defined in BetterTouchTool

Scrolling is now broken in both tabs.

Not sure if BTT is the chief culprit here. I have the same gesture defined for Chrome and it works fine on the same computer. Also, I could not reproduce this with a fresh profile. I've now done a "refresh" in Firefox, and after reconfiguring all my add-ons and some other settings (*grumble*) I'm not able to reproduce this right now. Going to wait and see if this comes back.

Also, I never had this problem on my 10.14 machine, where I'm syncing with Firefox, and which also has the same BTT settings.
