I'm a new firefox user and have never done an update. Evidently the upgrade downloaded automatically and when I restarted my computer this morning I got messages from an unidentified source saying " Hi... we've seen got some updates for your computer... don't turn off your pc." How do I know if this message is from firefox or a virus? If it's you why don't you identify yourselves? The messages have been flashing on my screen for over an hour. If I don't get an answer I'm going back to chrome.

Hi

These messages sound like they may be a scam as we only update Firefox for Android through the Google Play store.

I strongly recomend that you do not pay attention to these messages and consider clearing your browsing history to stop them from reappearing.

With apologies, it turns out that windows is the culprit, not Firefox.
