Hello.

I use Firefox 68.8esr on a Linux Mint Debian Edition 3 laptop.

Suddenly (today), I have no more audio anywhere : no sound when streaming videos (YouTube, Vimeo, ...) no sound from radio web sites, although I can see that the streaming is working. All other software play audio normally (VLC, Audacious, my other browser - Chromium). I have reinstalled the packages of Firefox and for the Flash plugin (although, obviously most of the web sites don't rely on Flash) and I have tried running Firefox in safe mode, it does not change a thing. I have checked the online docs ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues#w_html5-audio-and-video ) and made sure it's not an autoplay block.

Any suggestions ?

Got the answer !

In the sound settings of the OS, under the 'applications' panel, I found that a cursor set to 0% for 'AudioIPCServer' (which only appears when some web page is playing sound). I set the cursor back up to 75% and it works again.

PS : I also did restart the computer.

PS 2 : I just downloaded Firefox 76 and sounds play fine. However, this downloaded version is not integrated with the OS and I'd rather use the installed version.
