Approximately 3 days ago (6/1/2020), one of my accounts stopped downloading mail.

Background: I've been a Thunderbird user for 10 years or so. I download 6 accounts into a global inbox. Only one account is affected. Another account on the same server is still working fine with identical settings. Hangs at "Checking Inbox for new messages..." for about 60 seconds, then gives up. I have archived half the messages in the inbox and compacted the file.

Your help is appreciated!

Also: Email sends normally, the problem is receiving mail.

Maybe there is a corrupted message blocking downloads of the others:

Thanks for the suggestion. I deleted all of the inbox messages later than 2 weeks prior to when the download stopped working. I also compacted the file again. No success. This whole thing could easily be a Thunderbird parameter (the download always gives up after almost exactly 60 seconds).

I also tried customer support at Godaddy (my web host). They are uninterested in email problems if their webmail website is working properly.

But, mysteriously, TB started downloading again a few days ago, without any changes in either TB or the server side in the past week. So I'm grateful for the success and hoping it's durable.
