I have an old tablet with Android 5.1.1, 4GB of RAM and Intel 64bit Cherry Trail x5 CPU, that I use daily just to read news from BBC.com. After the latest automatic Firefox update by Google Play to 91.2.0, all the images in that site as well as other web sites, no loger are displayed by the browser. Everything else seems to be working fine.

I tried different things like clearing cache, disabling complements, etc... that did not worked. I know I can try to reinstall firefox, but before going that way, is there anything else that I can do ?.

I am thinking it might be an issue because the Android version that I am using (which I can not change), so as an alternative is there any way to download the previous Firefox version (which worked just fine) ?.

Thanks for the information link pointing that many other people have the same issue with other tablets. Is good to know I am not alone on this issue.

In my case I switched back to an older version of firefox that I found on the archives: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/

And I think I will keep using it, at least for a while. It displays the web pages in a better way for my tablet. And for the moment does not crash as it was happening intermitently with the latest versions.

Hi

Could you try this in the Beta version of Firefox for Android (available from the Google Play store)?

Beta might be an option but I would prefer going back to what I know was working before.

Could you test to see if this works in Firefox for Android Beta?

Reinstalling 91.2.0 Firefox did not work. Installing 92.0.0.4 Beta Firefox did not work. Even opening the simple Wikipedia start page link that came with firefox gives black rectangles on all images. Considering the 91.2.0 Release notes is very likely there was a change on the graphics libraries that broke that functionality for Android 5.1.1 on Intel CPU. The tablet is old but good, dual boot and able to run Windows 10 latest edition 21H1 just fine. It just uses more batery and so I prefer to use it on Android mode. I'll try to find and download a previous version, although IMHO to avoid this kind of situation there should be an standar option for any software to go back to the previous version after any update.

Hi

Looking at these notes from our developers, this issue has been fixed and will be rolled out to users very soon (if not already).
