online image processor results blocked by ff as "potential security risk"
I'm using an online image processing service. OK until recently when the resulting jpeg file download is blocked by ff for "potential security risk". [Literally the DL report says blocked but my photo software shows a jpeg file created that cannot be read.] An ff clone browser gets the file OK. Also there is a manual over-ride in ff that works one file at a time. I don't see any way to automate for batch or site itself. Manual for each file is a nuisance. I really don't know what I'm dealing with here but I doubt there is a virus or security danger for my home (not networked) pc. Thanks for any assist.
PS: I see in download help here, the threat warning of PSR [potential security risk] is ambiguous. Compared to "may harm your computer", a higher level. PSR says "uses an insecure connection . . . may be corrupted or tampered with during the download process". I read this knowing that another browser, and the ff override, get the file no problem. Can a security threat be concealed in a jpeg file? FF is relying on google-based protection, I believe.

Thanks for reply. Have not done this yet bc meantime I've got a few warnings "Something is trying to add unauthorized update to Pale Moon. Contact your network admin." PM is the ff clone I used as a workaround. Maybe there is something fishy. I learned that while jpegs don't contain complete malware as such they can hold data for use by malware, design to avoid virus detection. The image processor may or may not be innocent if something is put into their product (file), insecure transmission back to me. Need to investigate more, will credit solve if it works.
Sorry to report this seems to change nothing. I first cleared box for "block dangerous downloads". When that wasn't enough I cleared "block dangerous content". Not a state I like as default. Closed and opened ff to see changes saved. I even tried clearing "Warn you about uncommon and wanted software", not really this case but box can't be cleared anyway. Repeat, single file override works. However there must be many sits now where using a trusted site* means quantity of single file downloads, image processing one of them. I was hoping for site specific but if it has to be blanket it will have do to. Right now a mystery what unblock DL's is supposed to do.
- Got response from the site support, enough I take risk of any unknowns.
Thanks.
