When I click a link that opens a new tab, that tab hangs and never loads

Much (but not all) of the time, when I click on a link that opens in a new tab, that tab never loads the content. It sits there with the little dot on the left oscillating back and forth.

BUT if I close Firefox and reopen it, it comes back with all the tabs I had when I closed it -- and the problem tab loads and displays the content without trouble.

What can I do to not have to close and reopen Firefox so often?

I'm running the latest version of Firefox on Windows 11 Home. 64-bit.en

So as I understand the Firefox is already running, but is not responding. Interactions between certain Internet security software (firewall or anti-virus) can cause Firefox startup hangs on some systems. A Firefox update or security software update may resolve this problem. You can also try to reconfigure your firewall or disable your antivirus software temporarily, to see if the problem goes away. If your Internet security software is causing the issue, contact the software provider's support site or switch to a different product.
