My URL bar disappeared, yet when I click on "view" and select "toolbars" the navigation bar option is already checked. What do I do?!?!

This is not a matter of me clicking on "view," highlighting "toolbars," and selecting "navigation toolbar," for it is already checked. Where my URL bar should be is a blank surface aside from the navigation buttons... I'm so confused.
