Mp3rocketsearch takes over searches in the address bar. I have tried numerous fixes, such as, changing keywordURL in about:config. And have deleted/uninstalled all mp3rocket files I can find. Preferences are not saved when Firefox closes. The search engine preference reverts back when reopened.

Please do the following.

Click Help | Restart With Add-ons Disabled.

In the menu which appears, checkmark the option called Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults.

Next, click the button, "Make changes and restart".

You will lose your customizations doing it this way, but you've already tried everything else by the sound of it.

I tried that but the I don't get the option to "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults", it just goes to "Make changes and restart" button.

Tried it but it still did not work : (
