My Firefox crashes on startup. I went into the safe mode and it did work. I even troubleshoot the extension, theme and hardware acceleration while in safe mode. I disabled all the add-ons. When I returned back to Windows XP it still did not work. I do not know what is wrong. Please assist. Thank you.

That can be a problem with Spector (svrltmgr.dll; thread 1 and 3 of crash report)

  • bug 434403 - Startup crash [@ nsDocShell::SetupNewViewer(nsIContentViewer*)] [@ nsCOMPtr_base::assign_with_AddRef(nsISupports*) | DocumentViewerImpl::Close(nsISHEntry*) ] (causes: Backdoor.Ulrbot.C Trojan, Spector Pro)

Hello,

I reviewed the reply you sent. I do not have spector360 on my computer so that is not the issue. I am not sure what does the other two sites mean. Am I suppose to use these sites to test for the problem? My firefox works in safe mode so how do I get it to work under windows xp. Thank you.

You do have the file svrltmgr.dll showing in the module list of the crash report.

What is the origin of that file (which folder) and which software has installed it?

Thank you for the information. I was able to see this particular file found in my Windows/systems32 folder. I will work on this issue and see if the problem is resolved. Thanks for your help.
