Why do some features think I'm running an old version of Firefox (like 3.5) since I upgraded to the new version 7.0.1?

Since I upgraded to Firefox version 7.0.1, other programs fail to recognize this version. Gmail tells me I'm running an older version. Some add ons think I'm running version 3.5. I have downloaded and installed v7 several times now, but it doesn't help.

Your UserAgent string in Firefox is messed up by another program that you installed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent

type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.
Filter = general.useragent.
Right-click the preferences that are bold, one line at a time, and select Reset.
Then restart Firefox
