I cannot transfer my Firefox bookmarks from my Windows XP desktop to my new Windows 7 laptop - it is east to get old IE Favorites but they are out of date.
I have used Firefox on my old computer (Windows XP desktop) for some time, so of course the Favorites still listed on Internet Explorer on that computer are quite outdated.
On my new laptop (Windows 7) I have downloaded the latest edition of Firefox, but the only option for Bookmarks offered is to get the Favorites from I.E. which I did, and that is quite easy.
I have read material on Firefox site about transferring Bookmarks on Firefox on old computer to Firefox on new computer, but they do not work. I've tried several times. Of course the instructions are not well-written too.
Surely, people getting a new computer happens many times a day ans easily transferring Bookmarks should be a standard, well-explained procedure, but it does not seem to be.
I have learned to like Firefox, but this problem is enough to drive me away, as I have hundreds of organized Bookmarks on my old computer
Is there any clear help?
