I have Thunderbird on my office (Windows XP Professional) and personal (Windows XP home) desk top computers and my lap top (Windows 8.1) My office and lap top retain all my emails in my inbox until I deal with them but my personal desk top deletes them automatically after one month. I have the same carrier - Telus - on all three. My email address for my lap top and personal desk top are the same and as a result I receive the same emails on both and can obviously read them on both. This has been a continuing problem since I concurrently switched to Telus and hooked up the free lap top I received from them. Thanks, Ray Drabik.

Tools menu (alt+T) > account settings > disk space and check the retention settings

When I click on the tools menu and "account settings" all I receive in a box is my account identity. There is no reference to "disk space" or "retention settings" whatsoever. Thanks anyway.

No disk space? Is your account IMAP? In which case it will have a synchronization and storage section instead with the same basic retention setting.
