Each time I open Firefox and go to my banking program I have to type in my full bank number. if I move to other sites while still connected to Firefox my number is remembered. BUT if I close my computer and open it again with Firefox the bank number does not show and I need to type it in in its entirety. I have checked the box where it asks if this is a personal computer.

I have used Firefox for a number of years and have not experienced this problem before.

Hoping someone out there can help. Thanks!

Such details about websites remembering you are likely stored in a cookie.

  • Create a cookie 'allow' exception to keep such cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
  • Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear the Cookies
  • do not clear the Site Preferences

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you would like to keep.
