Thunderbird will not connect to Verizon servers. I can get my email from the Verizon webmail location, but when I use thunderbird it does not connect or it will connect and just sit there for 2 minutes and do nothing. Any solutions, I have had Verizon look at it and they can not find anything wrong. We have Verizon DSL.

Sometimes Thunderbird works fine in getting my emails, other times it does not connect. Sometimes it connects with Verizon and says there are a certain # of messages to download but will not download any and will just stop the connection. This happened once before but then it worked fine for about 2 months. Now it is acting up again.

This morning first thing it worked great, now it does not work at all.

When the problem occurs, is Thunderbird the only application showing this behavior? Can you browse the web just fine at the same time?
