Under sarch bar on home page, "alert! you are not using the latest version of Firefox. Click here.....to update now". When I click here, it takes me to the update Firefox page, which tells me I am using the latest version!? I have FF set to update automatically.

I bought my Dell computer new approximately 1 month ago, it has Windows 8.1 OS. They installed Firefox there at the store.

Everything seems to be working fine, just bugged with the alert being there, and not understanding why home page says one thing and update page says another.

Is it indicative of a problem, or just bear with it until FF auto-updates again??

I appreciate your help!:))...Sackettwife

Usually you see this kind of thing as an attempt of malware or scam. Firefox only updates from Help > About Firefox, and if this says it's up to date, there's nothing to worry about.

Firefox 32 has been released, so you should be able to update via Help > About.

You can find the full version of the current Firefox 32.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Note that automatic update has been suspended temporarily to allow to investigate for issues with this new release, so you need to update manually.

Updates have now been disabled while we review feedback. Assuming no critical issues are found, target is to reenable updates on Tue, Sep 9.

Your help was also excellent, Cor-el, I didn't realize that clicking yes on a box to the right would choose solution...

I appreciate your explanation, and your time. :))...Sackettwife
