Firefox keeps crashing after virus infection. Ran malwarebytes, microsoft antivirus and 3-4 other AV scanners inc. rootkit scans. Everything is clean but it still crashes. Removed and reinstalled firefox but still crashes. no addons. plug-ins seem up to date. No other programs on the system crash.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar

Select Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.
