Though Firefox 33.1 is still storing all my passwords, they are not being filled in automatically when I visit websites that require me to login
Since upgrading to Firefox 33.1, passwords are not automatically filled in when I log on to variuos websites. I do not have the addon Remember Passwords 1.1 or any simiar addon. When going to 'Options', I can see all the passwords that ihave saved in the past. 'Remember Passwords for Sites' is also checked. Before upgrading, everything worked finr.

Does it not ask you if you want to save the passwords?
The Password Manager will not work if you are in Private Browsing. Some web sites send a signal to browsers to not auto fill passwords.
Type about:config<Enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. This is where Firefox finds information it needs to run. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type signon.autofillForms Set its value = true.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
- Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
