When I open a message, a display name (raw message content) is displayed as a window at the top of the Message Pane window. I would like to make that display name window smaller (adjust the size) while retaining the scrolling capability. Dragging the display name window boundary would work well. Or, the ability to toggle the display name on and off as F8 toggles the Message pane.

I have noted the address book display name capability but very few of my messages have or need address book entries.

Sounds like you are displaying the full headers as that would give the scrolling you describe. But there is no means of dragging the header section to a smaller size because it is fixed and part of the Message Pane.

There is a setting to reduce the headers, but this removes the scrolling to see full headers. I tend to use this view unless I need to see full headers. View > Headers > Normal

In addition to removing all the header info as Toad suggested, there is an add on to make the Message Pane header smaller.

Thank you Toad-Hall. Your suggestion returned my display to what I expected. It must have been changed during the last update installation.

Thank you also Airmail. I tried and liked your suggestion, also. It made the header even more compact and flexible.

Problem solved twice.
