The Windows 8.1 start icon is hidden?

If Firefox's toolbar area is not showing, Firefox might be in full screen view. The F11 key switches between regular and full screen view.

If Firefox's toolbar area is visible but the Firefox window is too tall and is blocking the Windows Taskbar, you can try resizing the Firefox window. Press Alt+Spacebar to call up the "control menu" for the Firefox window, then click Size or type s, press the down arrow on the keyboard once, then press the up arrow key repeatedly until you can see the Taskbar, then press Enter.
