We have recently faced the problem of NPAPI using Google Chrome with Java and we are so disappointed of that. By the official sources in September the NPAPI plugin will be entirely removed. We are aware that firefox will remove that API in future releases, but we can not find any information about it. Are there any expectations of removal of NPAPI plugin from Firefox?

NPAPI won't be removed from Firefox anytime soon. I can't make promises as to the future, but at this point in time there are no plans to remove it.

In short, not the removal of NPAPI specifically, but Mozilla is working towards eliminating the need for any plugins at all.
