Locked out of server login, can't recall password. Is there a way to fix this?
I opened Thunderbird this morning to find that it some how updated and needed me to sign into the server in order to retrieve any emails. We use this at a small business I work for and I'm new, I don't know what the password is, I've tried everything I can think of. Is there any way to reset the password?

Your password is between you and your email provider. That is who you need to reset a forgotten password with. Most providers have a link to reset a forgotten password on their email help page.
That being said, sometimes after Thunderbird upgrades the local firewall will block the new version. Check your firewall and make sure Thunderbird is set to ALLOWED.
