Why do my bookmarks show up when I click the bookmark icon, but not when I click 'show all bookmarks'?
Something happened this afternoon and when I started Firefox all my bookmarks were gone. I reinstalled Firefox and it recovered my bookmarks. My bar on the top of the browser is back, and when I click the bookmark icon, it shows all my bookmarks. However, if I click show all bookmarks (ctrl-shift-B), none of my bookmarks show up. I have attached a screenshot to show what I see, but it looks like there's a corruption somewhere.

It could be that they are all in a folder or hidden?
I hope these help troubleshoot, please if you make any changes to make a back up of the profile as well: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
