I am currently running Thunderbird 38.4.0 on a Dell Desktop with Windows 7 installed. I can print fine from other programs but...when I try to print from either Thunderbird or Lightning the printer will only print blank pages. Solutions....suggestions...or next steps would be appreciated.

re ; Printing an email in Thunderbird.

Select the email. 'File' > 'Print Preview' or 'Menu icon' > 'Print' . 'Print Preview'

Does it look blank ? Two things to check: What is the 'Scale' setting ? Is the scale too large or too small Try 100% and see what it looks like.

If still blank or not much is showing: Perhaps you margins are too wide leaving no room for text. click on 'Page Setup' button. Select 'Margins & Header/footer' tab

If 'Margins (millimeters)' set top, bottom, left and right to : 12.7 (Twelve point seven)

If 'Margins (inches)' set top, bottom, left and right to : 0.5 (Zero point five)

click on 'OK'

Can you see text correctly ? Use the Scale again to make minor adjustment, increase scale to increase font.

Let me try to answer each of your responses in order. - after selecting the print preview I could clearly see what I wanted to print. (was not blank) - Under Format and Options... Landscape was selected...Scale was100%...Shrink to fit was checked.

When I got to the Margins and Header/ Footer section I found the problem you suspected. The Top margin had a very large number populated and the Bottom margin was set to zero. Once I set the margins as you suggested I was able to print again.

Two follow up questions. - Any ideas on how/why my settings magically changed? In this case I don't suspect "operator head space" to have been the root cause. If you suspect it was however, please be honest. - After correcting the settings and while printing several months of my calendar I noticed that Shrink to fit doesn't appear to work for Lightning. Is this another issue I should pursue in another thread?
