Suddenly, without any discernible action on my part, search results in Firefox on Android launch the app store an prompt me to install the app for the link in question e.g. stackexchange, Wikipedia, online dictionaries etc. They all switch to the app store even though I have never installed those apps before.

I have cleared the defaults via android settings, I even reinstalled Firefox. No luck.

This is incredibly frustrating, who in their right mind wants to install an app for every cursory link. This completely breaks the functionality of the browser, the purpose of which is to browse.

Open later links are completely unrelated to the issue and make me wonder if you have read the question. Thanks, but no.
