My firefox has crashed and vanished, and when asked for my user name and password my password is rejected. How can I correct all this and restore my account?

I need to restore my Firefox account in my name as "objrussell", but apparently need to change my password and have a new one sent to me at a different gmail account that I maintain in Safari under my name as "russellarb" so that I can use it to get back to Firefox. How do I go about doing that?

Sorry, Firefox Account passwords will only be sent to the email address that was used to create that Firefox Account. That email address is the account name - not something like objrussell without the @ and the email domain name.

If the user needs to use a different email address for Firefox Accounts, and new account would need to be created. Of course the new account wouldn't have any Sync data.

Do you have a 2nd device connected to the Sync / Firefox Account? If so, that device can be used to create the new Firefox Account and your data sync'd to the server from there.

If not, it sounds like you are using Sync as "backup medium" which Sync wasn't intended for.
