Above the list of emails you should see a 'header bar' with the headings 'subject', 'date' and so on. Click on the bar where it says 'date'. The messages should then be sorted by date and a little triangle should appear by the word 'date'. If the triangle points down, the most recent messages will be at the bottom: click it again so that the triangle points upward.
